Beginner students will start in General English classes and progress to the English for Academic Purposes courses. After completing level 5 of English for Academic Purposes program, students can begin the TOEFL /IELTS preparation course as the core class. Students will prepare for all aspects of the TOEFL/IELTS
Students who successfully complete the program can register and write the official TOEFL test at ALCC. ALCC is an ETS authorized TOEFL iBT centre
Each term of TOEFL/IELTS Preparation is 8 weeks long. TOEFL/IELTS Preparation course is only offered in every other term
Students will take written and oral placement tests on the first day to determine English level. Students tested at Beginner or Intermediate Levels will be placed in General English or English for Academic Purposes program first and then progress into the TOEFL Preparation course. Students tested at advance level will be eligible to enter the TOEFL /IELTS Preparation course directly
